Saint Bernadette Tetralogy
A Four – Volume Collection of Reflections, Prayers, Stories, & Inspirational Art
It is no small task to write the story of a saint as an autobiography, incorporating the saint’s own experiences and words. But Dan Paulos has done this well, with unique empathy, wholesome insight, and humor. Both children and adults, reading I, Bernadette, will enjoy, as I did, the sunny spirit and sturdy, enduring faith of the little saint of Lourdes, so beloved by Our Lord and by His holy mother, Mary.”

“Dan Paulos has given us a refreshing new biography of Saint Bernadette of Lourdes, written from a unique first-person point of view. Dan’s goal of re-introducing Saint Bernadette to a new generation succeeds, for his down-to-earth narrative tells Bernadette’s story in a style simple enough for young readers of middle school age and engaging enough to hold their attention. Older children and adults also will keep turning the pages, for Dan paints an inspiring portrait of this beloved saint and her miraculous encounter with the Blessed Mother.” Read More

A Heavenly Pentalogy
Stories of Christ and Saints for Children
During his extensive sixty-year career, artist Dan Paulos was approached multiple times to create a children’s book reflecting on the final hours of Christ’s life on earth. Initially, he declined, believing the theme was too somber for young hearts. However, a transformative moment occurred when his mother delved into their family’s archives and unearthed a book he had written in eighth grade, titled A Simple Way of the Cross for Children. This discovery reignited his passion, leading him to illustrate the fourteen “Stations” with woodcut-like images intended to resonate with children. Despite his initial self-deprecating remarks about his poetic skills, the small book- featuring the original 1964 text alongside new illustrations was first published in 2021.
Later, when planning to reprint his four saint stories, he included the Stations of the Cross in the unique collection, recognizing children’s fondness for rhymes and the joy they experience when stories share the same rhythm as songs.
In 2021 Dan joined a precious artist-friend, Anne Simoneau, in collaborating on four saint books that she had lovingly illustrated many years earlier. From this partnership, “A Heavenly Pentalogy” (Stories of Christ and Saints for Children) was born, which includes his original “A Simple Way of the Cross for Children”.

We Called Them All "Sister"
Autobiographical Memories From My Childhood and Beyond
O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree, How Lovely Are Thy Branches.””
“If we look back upon the nineteen centuries of Christianity, with all their heroes, kings, and saints, we shall find it difficult to list many men who came so close to Christian perfection as did the nuns. Their lives of quiet devotion and cheerful ministration have made generations blessed. When all the sins of history are weighed in the balance, the virtues of these women will tip the scale against them, and redeem our race.” – Will Durant, Historian

In the Midst of Chaos, Peace
Sister Wendy Beckett, Dan Paulos, Sister Mary Jean Dorcy
In response to Pope John Paul’s recent letter to artists to promote the Catholic faith through “artistic evangelization”, three well-known names in the field of sacred art have collaborated to produce this beautiful art book filled with visual and spiritual meditations. Sister Wendy Beckett, famed BBC and PBS art critic, presents her always unique meditations for each of the 54 wonderful silhouettes by the two foremost Catholic paper-cutting artists, Dan Paulos and the late Sister Mary Jean Dorcy. The result is what Sister Wendy calls “an epiphany”, a book that reveals the God of mercy, love and peace through deeply inspired art and reflections. A perfect Christmas gift!
Thus, this book and its title, In the Midst of Chaos, Peace, perfectly sum up the three collaborator’s intent: to offer people in our modern, fast-paced and hectic world, spiritual and artistic meditations that take only a minute to ponder but can produce profound and lasting peace of soul.
